About me
Vita
My name is Roman Zenner, I was born in 1977 and I am currently living and working in Aachen, Germany. During my studies of English literature and linguistics I got in touch with the technical side of the Internet when assembling a website aiming at supporting the student exchange between Aachen and Perth, Australia. After having finished my PhD, I started fulltime work in the internet business. For about three year now I am self-employed, specialising on opensource solutions and marketing strategies in the area of ecommerce.
cooee?
You might have wondered what the first part of my company’s name means: cooee. According to Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary from 1913 the following definition applies:
Cooey \Coo”ey\, Cooee \Coo”ee\, n. [Of imitative origin.]
A peculiar cry uttered by the Australian aborigines as a call to attract attention, and also in common use among the Australian colonists. In the actual call the first syllable is much prolonged (k[=oo]“-) and the second ends in a shrill, staccato [=e]. To represent the sound itself the spelling cooee is generally used.
I think that at the end of the day all business on the internet is based on attention; and in my opinion this should be expressed by my company’s name as well.
